A Little Bit Crazy

It’s hard to believe that almost 4 years have passed, and it’s almost time for our first furlough!  I feel like we just arrived and, at the same time, like this is where I’ve always been. Life has been so full.  There have been hardships and blessings…I wouldn’t trade my life for anything else! This is my home.

I have not been able to write much over the last year as I was putting together a book of Sunday School Lesson outlines for our children’s church workers.  After many morning hours over the last two years, I finally have printed copies of the New Testament Chichewa lessons, and a rough draft English copy of the Old Testament. I added coloring pages to the Chichewa copy so that the teachers have pictures with their lessons. It feels so good to finally have this project almost completed!  It was one of my main goals before furlough.  Maybe now that it is completed I will have an occasional morning to start blogging again….or maybe not. There always seems to be something here to keep me busy!

This week is extra busy.  Not only do we have regular church ministries, but also  we had a newborn baby “haircutting” ladies meeting today (it’s more like a dedication at our churches), and the Bible college graduation is this week, which means daily practices.  It is a crazy week, but I’m surviving so far.

Our normal ministry schedule now is Sunday leave for the Nyamula church plant at 6:30 AM, when it finishes at 9, we head to the Phokera church; Wednesdays are Phokera prayer meetings; Fridays are Nyamula prayer meetings, Saturdays are soulwinning days….then it starts all over again.  It can be difficult to keep up with school and my responsibilities, but the Lord has given me so much grace!  It has gotten a little harder as the hot season comes, but I can’t complain as we’ve had a much cooler year this year. The Lord has really blessed us with the weather!

As always, no matter how exhausted or hot I feel, a baby and little ones make everything better! My favorite place is with a little one snuggling in and the Lord blessed me with lots of those at the baby ceremony today!  How adorable the little ones were parading around in our sun hats and sandals!  How we love these kids! Pray that they would continue to be faithful to church, even when we are not there.

And pray for us as we prepare for furlough…our schedule is everywhere, things are everywhere, and so are our emotions.
